Comments:Sad to report that Ronald L. Beckett, former company commander of "B" Company, 2nd Battalion, 18th Inf. (Vietnam 1965-1966), recently passed away. Ron was a 1961 graduate of the USMA at West Point and at the time of his death was an assistant superintendent of schools for Anne Arundle Co., MD. Ron also wrote a book based on his experiences in Vietnam which his family & close friends hope to have published.

Comments:I was a brand new WO1 when I was assigned to HHC, 1ST BN 18TH INF during June 1967 thru June 1968. I don't think I spent much more than five days, at the very most, in Di An during the whole time. I was always forward with the battalion trains in Lia Khe. CPT Gudat was the S4 (always forward), SFC "Windy" Windmiller was the S4 NCO (always forward) and 1LT Langnon was the support platoon leader.
