Comments:I am the granddaughter of Pvt. James S. Jenkins #46881. He enlisted in Benton, IL, 5 April 1917. He was assigned to the AEF, Co. E, 18th Infantry. I have been searching for 3 years for information about the 18th Infantry. I hope this is the right one. I recently was able to achieve in having the U.S. Army honor him with the Purple Heart, The WWI Victory Medal and WWI Victory Button posthumously. I have never been more proud of another human being in my life as I am my grandfather.

Comments:Tan Heip article was great. One correction. CPT Fred Shirley left "A" Trp, 1/4 Cav and Nam about 4/13 or 14/68. CPT Serio commanded for 3 days and was killed by RPG near Claymore Corners near Phouc Vihn on 4/17/68. I became "A" Trp Cmdr on 4/17/68 and was with you at Tan Hiep and was awarded Silver Star that day. Please inform COL Tronsrue and correct the record. Thanks. My medic, SGT "Doc" Mims never carried a weapon but won a Silver Star that day for carrying many infantry-men to dust-off c
